If someone asked you what is your theme song, would you know which one it is? Give it some thought.  Something from the time you were a child? An adoloscent? A young adult? What song tells something about you the way you feel right now or the way you would like to be? Is it whimsical? Serious? Loving? Sad? Happy?

If you have not thought about it before, take some time and get that IPOD out...and start listening to figure out what your theme song is right now!

Will  you come back here and share with us what is your theme song is? I'd love to know.

And so, to say it with Abba, "Thank you for the music...".  Don't forget the joy of dancing through life to the theme of your own tune!

Life is Amazing! Live Well.

P.S. By the way...curious to know what my theme song is? Stay tuned...it's from a musical...

Wow, I am so ecstatic right now. I do not even know where to begin. Let us just say that today was a marvelous birthday -perhaps the best yet- though I say that every year.

At school, my Sarah and Wallie gave me awesome cards, Valerie (and I believe Courtney helped) made me a magnificent booklet, and Daniel made me delicious lemon bars! What friendly friends I have.

I also received many happy birthday wishes on Facebook, which even further made my day.

What with the excitement of the school day, I almost forgot that I was to receive a special birthday dinner and presents from my family.

For dinner, I chose to have Pad Thai, which is basically this peanut/teriyaki sauce/noodle/slices of pork combination, and tropical fruit salad on the side. Both were marvelous.

For our dessert, we had key lime cheesecake that I picked out from Costco (as I mentioned yesterday or whenever). That was delicious as well.

Then we moved on to the presents. I got so many wonderful things... so many things that I love so much... that I can barely contain my excitement and hold back from yelling out in happiness. I will try to list as many as I can before rushing away to use them. I will try and hold back from commenting on each thing and how much I love it.

Blue Lego brick Ipod speaker

Mario/Luigi Presidential campaign shirt

"They’re, Their, There" Threadless shirt

"Obey gravity: it’s the law" shirt

A staple-less stapler

A Bento Lunchbox!

Fake blow out candle thing (the only way I can think to describe it)

Gummy peach rings

"Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Clyde" shirt

The Perfect Insult for Every Occasion

What Would Socrates Say?

Verbatim

And then, my biggest present, a super dee duper surprise package from an awesome place called Archie McPhee!

Among many oodles of magical items were (just to name a few)-

Tater Tot pencil toppers

Authentic POGS!!!! from 1994, when I was the wee age of one year old!!! (thrilling)

Two magic Tiki totem pole necklaces

Monkey with fez beads

Hula playing cards

Happy Monkey citrus chewing gum

Tapeworm sticky tape (and miniature version!)

A tiny school supplies set

Valentine cards

Halloween cards

Educational posters

A magic, gravity-defying wizard’s stone

...and trillions and billions of other lovely items!

I am dreadfully excited, therefore will leave you after a few brief notes.

Note one- I have noticed for quite some time that there are an inexcusable amount of grammar mistakes in the school’s newspaper. During a free time in math, I edited some of the many. There were even more than I thought- not to mention that there was a calendar in the newspaper which included false holidays (I should know- I resorted to my obscure holidays booklet for clarification). For this reason, I am going to use the ‘letter to the editor’ section to voice my concerns. What is even more inexcusable is the fact that there are twenty-one editors and not one of them noticed any of the countless mistakes. This world- I fear for what it is coming to.

Another note- today is Greenery Day and National Shrimp Scampi Day. Due to the fact of twenty-five being my favorite number, today’s number of the day is just that. Due to the fact that it is my birthday (beginning with ‘B’), the word of the day is ‘boondoggle,’ meaning ‘a wasteful or useless project or activity.’

I LOVE YOU ALL!

...and good night, everybody.

EDIT: Oh my goodness, I barely even thought about the fact that I am now fifteen...

SECOND EDIT: And wow, I cannot believe I forgot-

A mystery present from my grandparents that has not arrived yet

and

A pair of delightfully colorful socks (not yet finished) my mother is knitting for me

The Slow-one has very kindly brought it to my attention that I am neglecting my blog again. He's right, of course. Sorry about that, my miniscule (but most appreciated) bunch of regular readers. :D

So. Hm. How has life gotten in the way lately? Ah yes. Hang in there. This post is gonna be all over the map. Literally.

After much speculation for the wireless industry, business analysts, technology gurus and us consumers, it appears that Rogers Wireless (a wireless carrier in Canada) has confirmed that it will carry the ever popular Apple iPhone.

Accoring to an interview, Mr. Ted Rogers has stated this:

“We’re thrilled to announce that we have a deal with Apple to bring the iPhone to Canada later this year,” said president Ted Rogers in a statement. “We can’t tell you any more about it right now, but stay tuned.”

We will stay tuned alright, but there's some places out there in Canada that carry iPhones that are "unlocked". Last year, Apple has released this popular device in the United States and many countries out there are watching closely on how will this product will sell out. The iPhone can play music and videos too (since it's part of the iPod family).

At first Telus and Bell were the proposed carriers to carry the iPhone in Canada, but this has prevailed. It seems that Mr. Rogers would welcome the iPhone in his neighbourhood after all! Initially, there was rumours that Holt Renfrew was carrying the iPhone, but this has since been false as per company statement.

As my fellow bloggers has stated out, it seems that Rogers has finally got a plan that comes together.  One person posted the news in his perspective, while the other one decided to be more liberal. There's an ongoing dispute about the iPhone trademark. This was done by two companies. First off back in January 2007, Cisco has filed a lawsuit against Apple on the Trademark name because Cisco has released a line of VOIP phones under the name "iPhone" (or Linksys iPhone). The dispute lasted for a month until two sides reach an agreement. Finally, Comwave has also a VOIP service, also under the name "iPhone". It's a dispute that will never end.

With the wireless spectrum auction going into full throttle, it seems that many bidders want to get the piece of the 2GHz spectrum. It's not like the U.S. one, in which 700Mhz was auctioned off. In the end, Verizon Wireless finally got that spectrum. Now, the company will be developing it's Long Term Evolution (LTE, a variant of GSM or something like that) network to allow phones to work all around the world. The Canadian Auction will be concluded next month with the highest bidder. To view the list of qualified bidders, you can view them here: http://www.ic.gc.ca/epic/site/smt-gst.nsf/en/sf08900e.html

I wonder if my chums Bobby Foley or David Harrison has their own say about the iPhone. Hmm...it's their own opinion. We have many wireless carriers in this country, but the three "big players" are Rogers, Telus and Bell. There are some other companies out there, but most of them runs on the big players' networks. Here's my run-down:

  • Rogers
  • Telus
  • Bell
  • Fido
  • Virgin Mobile
  • Koodo Mobile
  • Videotron
  • Sasktel
  • MTS
  • PC Mobile
  • DCI Telecom
  • 7-11 Speakout Wireless
  • SearsConnect
  • Primus
  • Solo Mobile
  • Cityfone

So who will be the new player of the wireless industry in Canada? Stay tuned. If you people want to learn more about cell phones, the HowardForums website offer those needs. One of the biggest influences on my willpower during a run or a giant hill is my iPod.  The go-to song to keep me going at my lowest point on a run is Pump It by the Black Eyed Peas.  That song always gets my feet moving and my arms pumping.  With that in mind we have added a list on the left of your screen with our recent or favourite iPod runspiration songs.  You can click on the title of each song to go to the amazon.com mp3 store and listen to a preview of the track.  Just added today were 4 Minutes and Do Your Thing which have now been added to my iPod's runspiration playlist too (thanks Hils & neL).  I also added Bounce With Me (by Kreesha Turner) which is this week's free iTunes download  - in Canada at least - and it's got some potential too.  I've also added Where's Your Head At by Basement Jaxx.  Another upbeat catchy tune, but more electronic sounding than some of the others, so maybe not as popular.

So what's your best runspiration tune?

Yet another great post from the Consumerist, "7 confessions of an Apple Specialist". Apple fanboys, you may commence flaming.
Apple care - total waste of money. (yup, thought so. most extended warranties are)
iPod - reset or restore or trash it. Not many solutions when you're dealing with flash memory or hard drives of that size. There's always data recovery.
Salepeople - don't have any gossip for you so stop asking.
Customer satisfaction - Apple takes it very seriously. After all, they want to keep their bragging rights over PC's and Windows, am I right?
