Apple has released a new update to its iTunes media player, adding colour options to its “grid view”

It’s come to light that Apple is currently involved in court proceedings brought by St Clair Intelle

Comixology, makers of the free comic-book app Comics, have brought one of the “big two” comics publishers to the iPhone for the first time. This is exciting news to try and grab the comic market and make it readable both on a mobile device but anywhere.

The company announced that effective immediately, several comics from Marvel Comics will be available for purchase via in-app purchase from the free Comics app.

The Marvel comics available initially from Comixology are Joss Whedon’s 24-issue run on Astonishing X-Men, Robert Kirkman’s five-issue Marvel Zombies miniseries, Ed Brubaker’s first 30 issues of Captain America, and two other X-Men-related books, X-23 and X-Men: Age of Apocalypse, each six issues long.

Each individual issue will be priced at $2.

In addition to Marvel, Comixology’s Comics app features comics from more than a dozen other publishers, including Kirkman’s excellent superhero book Invincible and his black-and-white Zombie-apocalypse drama, The Walking Dead.

This isn’t Marvel’s only foray into the world of the iPhone. The company recently launched two “motion comics” sold directly via iTunes: Spider-Woman and an adaptation of Whedon’s Astonishing X-Men.

Playing around with the newly released WordPress v. 2.0 app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Pretty ni

Apple have released iTunes 9.0.2, the latest version of its media player and software hub for devices such as the iPhone and iPod touch. This new version is 93 megabytes to download and adds support for Apple TV software version 3.0, adds an option for a dark background for Grid View and improves support for accessibility.

While Apple were at it, they also killed Palm’s webOS Media Sync dead (yet again). I’m sure that Palm will react and find a way of syncing again to iTunes but Apple will again stop them dead in their tracks in a future update.

For Mac OS X users iTunes 9.0.2 requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later to install and run.
